Blue India Charity Night Blue India Charity Blue India Haywards Heath Blue India

14 February 2008

Blue India restaurants held a charity fundraising event on 30th and 31st January 2008 in aid of the Cyclone Relief fund.

50% of takings on these evenings were donated to the appeal.  Blue India restaurants also held a raffle with gifts donated by local businesses.

The evenings were a great success with Blue India Crawley and Haywards Heath serving over 180 guests.

Jamal (manager) Blue India Haywards Heath said: “Thanks to all our customers and local businesses that supported us and made the events such a success.  This was our first charity event and we were overwhelmed with the support we received from businesses (especially in the Broadway) which all donated raffle prizes and also from our customers who purchased raffle tickets.  The charity nights were very successful and hopefully there will be many more to come.”

Blue India Haywards Heath raised a total of £1892.00, Blue India Crawley raised a total of £1840.00, making a grand total of £3732.00.

Shaf Rahman said: “The money will go towards helping those affected by the disaster to rebuild their lives and homes, including the reconstruction of schools and providing clean water and sanitation.”

Steve Thorley from Network Flow who came in especially for the evening and won a case of Cobra beer in the raffle said: “We are glad to support the Bangladesh Cyclone Appeal and have had a lovely evening at Blue India.”

Helen Crofts who runs Rabbit Holidays (a holiday home for rabbits and guinea pigs) said: “As regular customers and a local company, we are proud to support Blue India’s first charity event.”

Chris Jones from Haywards Heath said: “We really enjoy coming to Blue India and are pleased to support their event and help another part of the world, we applaud Blue India efforts.”
